What to Expect During Your Consultation Call
Thank you for considering The Alaska Palliative Massage Initiative! Before scheduling your first massage session, we’ll have a brief consultation call to ensure we can provide the best possible care for you and your loved one. Here’s what we’ll cover:
Medical History: We’ll discuss any medical conditions, medications, or treatments that may affect the massage. This helps us tailor the session to ensure safety and comfort.
Goals for the Session: We’ll talk about what you hope to achieve—whether it’s pain relief, emotional comfort, improved sleep, or simply a moment of relaxation.
Place of Treatment: We’ll confirm where the massage will take place (e.g., home, assisted living facility, or hospital) and ensure the space is comfortable and accessible.
Logistics: We’ll go over the timing of the session, any special equipment needed (e.g., hospital bed, wheelchair, recliner), and how to prepare for the massage.
Questions and Concerns: This is your time to ask questions or share any concerns you may have. We’re here to listen and make sure you feel completely at ease.
The consultation call typically takes 15–20 minutes and is a chance for us to get to know each other and ensure we can provide the most compassionate and effective care.
We look forward to speaking with you and supporting you on this journey.
